Blue bell is shite. It's the yeti/Costa of ice cream. Just a name. With lysteria. Seriously though you gotta admire the Texas hype machine. Blue bell yeti bucees Franklin's BBQ voodoo donuts etc. I mean most of its good but the name is far greater than the substance. Except maybe bucees

I'm old, from the deep South, and didn't eat Blue Bell until in my 40s. People like it because it taste great and they make a lot of unique flavors.
I've had Tillamook and don't recall it being 'wow' or better than Blue Bell. FTR, we mostly eat HEB flavors now. Good stuff and IMO, better than Blue Bell in some cases.

Been here for a decade. Know nothing of a Texas hype machine. No idea what a voodoo donut is.
Buccees advertising was pretty pedestrian. It didn't have to hype itself. We did that.
As for Franklin, he was at the vanguard of the TX BBQ renaissance. Any joint rated as #1 by Vaughan/TX Monthly gets the hype, e.g., Goldies. There is nothing overhyped about TX BBQ. In a class by itself.

Some things in and from Texas are worth the hype…
Whataburger (if hot off the grill)
Correctly cooked BBQ brisket
St. Arnold’s and many other brewers
Taco trucks in the bario
Blue Bell most certainly is not and neither is Bucees.
Ben & Jerry’s blows BB out of the water and with natural ingredients. I know it’s been canceled by the MAGA crowd so maybe it’ll get cheaper.
Whataburger (if hot off the grill)
