You would think that he would at least change the order of the words separated by commas (describing the style of the food)

I also worked for Tiger Weekly and am currently the editor of a new magazine. I can say from experience that this is an issue that is rarely experienced by Tiger Weekly, as the majority of writers there work hard and do not feel the need to plagiarize. I'm certain the editor is relieved to have been notified of this and is properly handling this situation.
This cannot always be caught prior to printing, as you trust your staff will adhere to a certain ethical code for writing. Unfortunately this does sometimes occur on rare occasions in journalism and even good writers, such as this one, can make such a desperate mistake under too much pressure. But there really is no excuse for it, as the writer is a talented guy. I'm sorry this happened.

It's going to be printed monthly and there will be food reviews included in the Town section of the magazine.

Good Luck! It better be good!
Getting Advertisers is gonna be tricky! There is a lot of competition in town. And budgets are shrunk!
I salivate at the end of each month waiting for the new '225 Magazine' to hit the racks! I really enjoy that publication.
I wish you success and can't wait to see your format!

Rats. BR needs a weekly like the Gambit.

Thank you. I really appreciate the support! I am obviously biased, but I think it's going to be great as it's going to fill a more lifestyle and fashion oriented niche that Baton Rouge is lacking. I hope that we become well established here and meet everyone's expectations. Thanks again!

Tiger Weekly is weekly!
True, but it is geared towards the college crowd.

Okay, you're gonna have to work on your shill tactics.

Well, if things fall apart for this guy, he has a great future at the New York Times.

This one could have been caught with a fairly simple google search though. I'd say that's bad form to not take a few random sentences and google them. The former editor that posted here even said he had some software to do that type of thing for him.

Yes, this is completely inexcusable. He didn't even take the time to paraphrase, and you assume he's a talented guy, but an incident like this makes you wonder if his talent is actually copying and pasting.
If you search the first sentence quoted in the OP, the Tiger Weekly page comes up first. I suggest Chicken remove the link to that page from the first post at the least, and at most send a friendly email asking TW to take the article down.

Deserves to be. If you are going to cheat, you had better cheat intelligently.
Plagiarizing from LSU's largest fansite for a newspaper distributed on campus isn't the brightest of moves.
