I'd probably enjoy all of them but I don't seek out that type of dining. So much of it just seems pretentious and more about presentation. I'm sure it all tastes great as well.

We'll be spending 6 of our 9 days in Cusco and the other 3 in Lima

Lima has had a world class food scene for many years. They’ve had restaurants on this list since it started. Central has been on this list virtually every year since it opened.

Yes, I have been and would like to go back.
We stayed a few days in Lima (Hotel B, great place). Biked along the cost and toured the city with a tour guide from SA Expeditions. Had the 14 course tasting menu at Maido (incredible experience). We were there Easter week and Central was closed (big let down).
We then flew to Cuzco, got off the plane and hired a car to take us down to the Sacred Valley. This is a good idea because it helps with acclimating to the altitude ( the Sacred Valley is at about 10K elevation) Again, we had a tour guide take us to the significant sites in the sacred valley. We took the train to stop 104, hopped off the train and hiked the last leg of the Incan trail. (incredible, but extremely strenuous, your mileage may vary).
Machu Picchu is an incredible place and I wish we would have skipped the hike and spent more time touring the site.
If I would do it again, I would spend some time in Aquas Caliente, the city at the base of Machu Picchu instead of hiking the trail.
Peru, is the best eating country I have ever visited. Every meal I had there was special.
The hotel (Inka Terra) we stayed at in the Sacred Valley I can't recommend enough.
Have a great trip.
One last thing, talk to your doctor about an Rx for diamox to combat altitude sickness and there are some video tours of Peru on youtube that were very helpful. Search vagabrothers, they have several videos and are entertaining and informative.

I was in Coeur D'Alene Idaho over the weekend and had some really good fish tacos. I don't see that restaurant on the list though.

Any food spots you'd recommend in Cusco? We've seen a few spots we're definitely going to try, but it's always nice to have some recs going in
We're flying in to Lima Friday night then hoping on a plane to Cusco the next morning. We'll be in Cusco two days the doing Machu Picchu (the short trail). Then back to Cusco the next few days with a day trip to sacred valley, and ending the last 2 nights in Lima

So, serious question for those who like to visit these types of places. Do you have to make another reservation for an actual meal after visiting one of these?

The only reason to go to them is with an "actual" reservation. They're restaurants and not a place to just visit.

I didn't mean it wasn't an actual reservation or restaurant. What I meant is that from the looks and the portion sizes on these dishes, it would leave a starving Ethiopian disappointed.

The tasting menus will have smaller bites but 5-7 courses. I've also been to Michelin restaurants with what you'd consider a full portion. I haven't left a Michelin restaurant thinking I needed more food.

The opposite. I have never left a restaurant of this caliber and been anything but full. These types of meals last multiple hours and over many courses, and are not meant to stuff your stomach but actually have you appreciate the food in front of you.
But if you’re a quantity over quality person, that’s entirely your call. I’m sure there’s a Golden Corral nearby that you can frequent.

Also, this statement not only points out how much you devalue the hunger problem in another country, but simultaneously points to how fat you are.
