Rouses puts em on sale like once a month or more. I usually try to mention it here when they do. Pigly wigly has assorted pork chops on sale this week 88 cents a lb. I prefer the boston butt steaks but sometimes get these too.

Them pork steaks look good. A lot of times I'll get a boston butt and soak it in bourbon for a couple days, then cook it in the bourbon. Usually just put it in my cast iron dutch oven. A slow cooker works as well.

Saw a wild recipe for pork steaks cooked in pot crock with pink-eyes. Not a big fan of crock pots but tried it anyway. Later tried it with butter beans...been meaning to try it with white beans. Was good. Was different. Will do again on occasion.

Also, I've got a half butt defrosting in the fridge right now. This is its fate.

Thanks so much man I love that meme and stole it and plan to use it on occasion very well done.

A good example of what I been saying about living on the cheap is Rouses sale this week they are advertising the pork steaks for $1.79/lb. The roasts were $.99/lb ad they cut em into steaks for ya for free. May not seem like much to you Baws but to a Poor ole outa work Cappy .80 cents savings is a beer a lb. So I can get a pack of pork steaks and a few beers for the same money. it's a good deal.

Try browning your pork chops, remove the chops from the pot and thrown in a head of chopped cabbage.. Brown the cabbage in the pork drippings and then return the chops to the pot and simmer the cabbage mixed with the pork, until the chops are tender. Makes a wonderful gravy. Goes well in a rice and gravy with black eye peas and corn bread.
I haven't tried this with Boston Butt's but I'm sure it would be just as good.
