True. I usually grab a family dinner from Publix and it is just an 8 piece. Nearest Popeyes is a couple of suburbs over from where I live. We do have a Bojangles near the house that does an 8 piece and a 12 piece.

The delicious round piece on the top that comes off in a ball about the size of the tip of your thumb is the oyster. Flip it over and the kidney is the gritty brownish piece in the cavity.
