Mark your calendars for Taco Tuesday, March 22, for the tortilla challenge!

All are welcome to participate. Novices, basic home cooks, cheffy home cooks, or even chefs de cuisine can submit their best tortilla dish!

At least one picture and a description of your dish are all that is required. Detailed recipes and multiple pictures are fine, too.

See y’all then.

Now that's a challenge... Sorry I missed the crab, graduate school, home life, and job has me all tied up at the moment.

Maybe I can get in on this one?

How does this work? Do we have to make our own tortillas or just make something with tortillas?

You need to use tortillas, which can be store bought or homemade.

Side note. My father in law is from the Yucatán and said he never saw a flour tortilla until he came to America.

Reading a little bit, it appears that northern Mexico is where they originated, so while they haven’t been around as long as corn tortillas, they are authentically Mexican.

I'm trying to think of something that wouldn't be essentially just a classic Mexican dish and I'm struggling

But since Mexican food is superior to all other foods that might not be a bad thing

neighbor growing up was first generation mexican, she made the best flour tortillas you can get. She ate a lot of corn too but flour was always around.

It is a misconception that flour is only a gringx thing

Ha I might!

I actually use tortillas instead of bread for a lot of things lately. I make a mean burger taco.

No, it’s a regional thing. They didn’t eat dried peppers and such either. They ate fresh seafood and fruits. He can’t take the pepper heat that you see more commonly in central Mexico.
