Let me tell you that their Cajun Benedict (which is really just gumbo with French bread instead of rice) is freaking legit.
Their roux is dark, but not too dark. The eggs were poached perfectly. The flavor was spot on. The portion was a good size.
My wife got some kind of breakfast sandwich with Tabasco sauce on it and she raves about it. I didn’t try it because I didn’t want to mess up the gumbo flavor I had going.
I will be stopping there again for brunch next time I am in Lafayette.

one of the most legit meals that i've had in a long time was that very dish at TFP.

How was the service? It's been a few years since we've been but the service was fairly crappy so just curious if they've improved.

It used to be very good, but I went a few years back and the service was shite, and their biscuit was clearly no longer made from scratch (it was a frozen biscuit)
ETA: I would be happy if they turned it around

Top tier service. There was probably 15-20 diners at 5-6 tables. 2 ladies were on top of things. Our server was perfect. Not too hard to find, and not on top of us the whole time.

IMO, Justin's food and menu has been pretty good. His staff and their customer service has been hit or miss. I haven't been in several years since I live 30 minutes from downtown.

I had a dish there a long time ago I still think about from time to time.
Boudin Cake
Poached Egg on top
All Swimming in Chicken and Sausage Gumbo. Flavors were unreal.
