If they use hydrogenated lard, then yes. But plain, unscrewed with lard is good for you. It's the unnatural "vegetable" oils that are bad for you.

You get an order of that, it's usually 55 percent red beans, 45 percent sausage. It's great, but a little overkill.

True, but it's very hard to find unhydrogenated lard commercially.

It’s not the good stuff. It’s the partially hydrogenated crap.

If you’re trying to make beans at home that are Chimes-like, best thing to do is mash a cup of beans that have basically finished cooking into a paste. Add that back to the pot with a stick of butter. Let that marry well and tighten up a little when ya cut the flame.
