Thanksgiving Day dinner fail- funny story

Every year my Dad used to come to my house for Thanksgiving dinner. One year he decided that he just wanted to watch football all day and not leave the house and ordered a Thanksgiving Feast dinner from Albertson's.
He scheduled it to be picked up at 4:30pm on the Wednesday before turkey day.
Much to his surprise , when he arrived to pick it up the entire meal was still frozen solid and was a bring home to cook type meal and not a ready to eat kinda thing like he thought.
He was so embarrassed that he didn't even tell me until the next day when I called to ask him how it was. He said he ended up eating a frozen pizza for dinner.
I loaded him up with a bunch of leftovers and we laughed about it every year .
Does anyone else have any Thanksgiving Day dinner fail stories

My father has never cooked a thing in his life. 30 years or so ago when frying the Thanksgiving turkey started to become popular (at least in my area) the decision was somehow made that he would be in charge of frying the turkey. He was out on the back patio setting up the propane tank, burner and pot while the rest of us were inside. Suddenly we see a giant fireball erupt outside followed by a loud string of expletive's. I'm not quite sure what he did, but somehow when the went to light the burner he left the gas valve wide open and caused a minor explosion.
Eventually the turkey was fried and came out well. But I always remember him sitting at the head of the table with the front part of his otherwise black hair, as well as his eyebrows, turned a shade of blondish/brown due to the fire singeing his face.
Why anyone, including him, though putting him in charge of cooking ANYTHING was a good idea I will never know.

Similar story.
My first Thanksgiving on my own, parents were out of town and it was just my wife and I. I decided to fry a turkey and was ill-prepared, used a waaaaay too small pot and when I dropped the turkey in the oil overflowed and sent a fireball at least 8ft in the air. I know it was that high because I was frying underneath my carport and the fireball engulfed the florescent light fixture and exploded it. Luckily nothing else was exploded or burned but the turkey, now chard and covered in glass and whatever else might be inside a fluorescent bulb, was ruined.

I cook my turkey in one of the disposable tinfoil pans. My first year I got the bright idea to carve it in there as well. No extra mess, I could just toss out the pan and the remaining carcass afterward. Great idea, until I cut through the tinfoil pan while carving and all the drippings started leaking out all over the counters and onto the floor.

My mom didn't like to cook, but insisted on having us there for Thanksgiving. She would order a full spread from somewhere and throw in a few easy sides. So we drive down there one Thanksgiving morning. She tells me to go to Kroger and pick it up at 11:00am. Like your dad's, everything was frozen solid.
My wife grabbed a couple of rotisserie chickens and a few other things and we whipped together a reasonable feast in about an hour, but my mom was very upset about the whole fiasco.
She never saw the humor in it. My wife kept the turkey and invited them up a few months later for a full turkey spread (which she does extremely well).

When my wife and I were first married, we had her father, brother and wife over for thanksgiving. My wife bought a frozen, smoked turkey from Sam's and took it out of the freezer to cook just a few hours before everyone arrived. We had a hot turkey on the outside, and still frozen in the middle. She cried, we laughed, and eventually ate a couple hours later! Her green beans and sweet potato casserole were good then and even better today. I took over the turkey from that point forward!
