And to leave you have to back out onto Cleary.

You are from NOLA right? You need to give them a try. Go to the one in Metairie not Gretna.
Lived there for like 4 years but I was young then.. When I moved back to the area I was in Slidell not in the city. So most of the places I went to were on the NO side not the Jeff Parish side.

This is good news as I pass the place at least twice a day. I'll have to stop by this weekend.
I'm glad George Morris did the Advocate review and not Judy Bergeron. She probably would have been taken aback by their lack of spinach and artichoke dip and cheese sticks.

Lisa Tramonte is the funniest/sad one of the bunch. She would have ordered a cheeseburger. Lisa is the one who goes to sushi bars but won't eat it.

I don't think she is within 6 degrees of anyone who has ever had any contact with proper food preparation. Until you read one of her reviews you have no idea of the meaning of the word "clueless". It is akin to Edwin Edward writing about ethics.

anybody tried it?
I have been about 6 times. Very straight forward, simple and good.
They have traditional Vietnamese as well as red beans, fried rice, etc. They have chicken strips, shrimp and fried fish with steak fries so the kids are happy, and I don't have to drive the other side of town in rush hour to eat Vietnamese. You with kids know how that magic hour is when kids need to be fed, if you don't hit it right you pay!
The owner will go out of his way to please, just ask if you need something. Ask if Momma's in the kitchen cooking. They have another business so sometimes she is not there, and I think it is best when she is.
Every time I have been it has had a majority Asian crowd in and out, which I always consider a good sign. Pho, vermicelli bowls, spring rolls, fried "egg" rolls as well as pork on a stick. I haven't tried a poboy but then again I wouldn't order a steak in a seafood restaurant.
They cater, and I looked at the menu. For example you can get spring rolls for right around $1 each which I consider a good deal if you have ever rolled your own.
I always rate food/restaurants on a 1) bad 2) average 3) good 4) very good and 5) special scale. I would say this is good to very good, and a major plus consistent. I don’t consider it expensive, but that is all relative.
I lived at Saigon’s near campus from the day she opened to the day she closed. TC doesn’t have as extensive of a menu as Saigon’s had, but we like it. Hope this helps.

paying 2.50 for the same sandwich here in houston
Man I do not think you can get a southern belle sandwich out of the cooler for 2.50.
I went to maxwells today and just the fries are 1.99
I think 6-7 bucks if a fair price for a good poboy.
