The steakhouse, Bern's, is supposed to be a destination spot.

Berns food is pretty good, but the experience and desert room set it apart. Coat required though...

Where in Tampa will you be?

Was there last year. Ate at Carne Chophouse a couple times, they have a good sirloin au poivre.

Columbia on East 7th in Ybor area for fancier Cuban.
For not fancy but delicious Cuban try La Teresita in the sit down section of the building (not the takeout part)

No problem as long as you aren't thinking Louisiana type seafood we have you covered.

Ocean Prime - near International Mall
Eddie V's - steaks but a nice seafood selection on Boyscout near the airport.

Rumba - out in Oldsmar
Salt Rock Grille - if you're on the Pinellas side.

Just about any of the nicer restaurants will have nice seafood selection as well. And welcome, hope y'all enjoy your meals and your visit.

Tibby's in Brandon, which is a short drive from downtown. Ricky P's in St. Petersburg (though I'm not a huge fan at all of it), if you're out that way. Roux, which is downtown Tampa. That's also connected to Datz, which is decent food as well and not seafood. If you do try the Columbia restaurant in Ybor, which is your best place for authentic Cuban food, there's a bar close to that called the Big Easy bar which is pretty cool.

Yep. Or try the same one "recipe" at Columbia Cafe'. Its in Channelside district near Amalie Arena and on the water for some scenery.

West Tampa Sandwich Shop

Small hole in the wall place but one of the best sandwiches I've ever had and super cheap.

No coat required at Berns. You are fine with a collared shirt. Its a pretty relaxed place. Also do not got to columbia for cuban. Its a great place with decent food but La terrasita and Arco Iris are you best bet. For seafood try Big Rays Fish Camp.

Don't get to downtown Tampa much, being in the Brandon area, but this is hands down the best food I've eaten in the Tampa area. I know there's better out there somewhere, but you won't find any "bar food" anywhere that's better than this place. Great food!

Agreed, the Columbia would be more accurately described as Spanish cuisine IMHO. They do some Cuban dishes and do them well.

Bern's is what I call "Florida Formal" meaning anything goes. I've seen folks in shorts with a polo and flip flops in there many times. Slacks and a dress shirt is perfectly acceptable.
