I still have my first and only pellet grill, which is a Pit Boss. I’ve had it maybe 3 years and have used it less than 30 times.
I use the Pit Boss pellets from Walmart and the auger gets stuck almost every cook. I had an issue with the blower not starting up and I had to take it apart somewhat to move the impeller with my finger to fix that. The cheap screws they use were very difficult to get out because the head easily stripped due to the paint causing them to stick a little.
The WiFi connection stopped working about 6 months ago.
I have cooked some very tasty meat on it. The area in the center just above the firebox is too hot to put anything near it even on low temperatures.
It has been a good grill for the money and for a beginner smoker like me who doesn’t use it a lot. I would not recommend buying another unless you are just looking at price. I don’t have any experience with any other pellet grill.
Hope this helps.

I have done briskets and butts for 8-10 hours on my Kamado with very little adjusting, but I am still not confident enough to just go to bed without worry. I accept that maybe I’m just not good enough. I’ve been using this Kamado for years and I just don’t have the faith that it won’t climb 100 degrees or smother 100 degrees in a couple of hours if the wind changes direction.
Maybe my seals aren’t perfect. It isn’t technically a Kamado Joe. It is technically a Vision Pro. The entire slide out has a light air leak. I also probably need to change out of gasket, as it is about 5 years old now.
Meh, I do love my Kamado. If it fell over and broke, I would definitely replace it asap.

As said before, get a Thermoworks or similar, fix your gaskets and seals and it becomes truly set and forget. Use those gift cards on a new pistol that you will soon lose in a boating accident

Do what you want, but... you can absolutely do all of this on a kamado. You just need to learn how to use it better. I have a Kamado Joe and i smoke many things on it, unattended. You need to have the dampers in the right spot. But, a brisket is a shorter cook on the kamado compared to a pellet or offset because of how well it is insulated. It's essentially, an outdoor over with some slight pressure cooking. I've cooked many whole briskets that took 8 or 9 hours and tasted fantastic.
Agree. I've had my Kamodo Joe for 12 years, I have enough experience that I can set the vents for a temperature, walk away for hours and not worry.
I'm an IT tech, there is something very satisfying about successfully using a low tech device without bells and whistles and getting great results.

Their app that you control your temp with won’t work. Mine worked ok till they changed apps and it has not worked since. Also not enough smoke flavor using pellets, I had to buy a smoke tube to get any smoke flavor.

I have been having my pit boss for a little over 4 years now. never had one problem. all brands of pellet grills will have some problems. 80% of all pellet grills are made in China. just go look on FaceBook and see how many people complain about their new Rectecs. just because you spend a lot of money on a pellet grill doesn't mean you won't have problems. I also have a large Big green egg. it just sits there now.
