New taco spot on Power in the old Chez Pierre. Small interior dining and a drive thru. Didn't try the drinks yet.

Ordered 6 tacos, chips and queso, and gauc. Overall the tacos were decent but at the price tag of $13 for 3 tacos, it doesn't seem worth it. 6 Tacos, guacamole, queso, and a kids cheese quesadilla was $60. Pretty steep for tacos imo.

We had carne asada, al pastor, brisket, and a shrimp. All were on the typical small corn tortilla and had good taste. Queso was pretty decent but the guac was forgettable.

If i had the choice between this and Paco's Tacos on vets, i'd take Paco's 10/10 times.

Anyone else been here yet? Interested to hear other experiences.

This price seems completely normal for any of the newer modern taco places like Barracuda etc.

60 bucks for all of that also seems relatively normal to me.

i feel like Rum House set the bar here

for reference i can get 5 tacos for $10 at paco's. that seems adequate for basic non specialty mexican street tacos

Right but I was under the impression that Tacos Del Cartel was higher end like barracuda, not a shitty taco bell level place.

both places im referencing are roughly the same thing. Neither place is on the level of a Taco Tico/Taco Bell place.

TDC has a bit more of an eclectic menu but the taco menu is roughly the same for the "basic tacos" like arrachera, chorizo, birria, and suadero. There is no way any of those tacos should push more than 2.50 per.

Are there more gourmet options that should cost more? yes, but of the selection i listed, $4 and change is steep for basic taco

Thanks for the info, I'll probably never go there but it did look promising.

the inside looks very interesting but really damn small.

not sure it's worth another go just to try out some drinks, and eating the food straight out of the kitchen

Food is average. You spend the extra money for the Instagram pic.

Go three blocks to Casa Garcia instead.

Can get 5 for $5 tomorrow at Mr. Tequila on Freret. Probably won’t blow you away, but it’s damn cheap.

love casa. we go there frequently. best salsa around imo

also like Taqueria Corona off hickory

been wanting to try a few of the more authentic places on williams like Los Chilangos. They catered kenner food and wine a couple years and what they provided was awesome

Wife (no pics) and I went and we both has the same exact thoughts. Way overpriced for what you get. If you did get drinks you'd be looking at over $100.

I love Pacos Tacos.

they had a hell of a deal over the summer. they did a famly dinner for like $30. it was more food than the wife and our two little ones could eat!

We got their margaritas all the time too. I think it was like $20 for a gallon. Only issue I have is they only have frozens. I prefer on the rocks

I tried this place for the first time Saturday. At least my $65 order included a 32oz margarita.
