Rookie move by 225 ordering the steak on flour. Gotta go corn.
I would only order the flour for the fish and shrimp tacos.
Requiem, when are you gonna get out of this thread and go try it for yourself?

I actually prefer the opposite: seafood on corn, beef/pork on flour IF the flour tortillas are made in-house. My wife and I went to Taco Chops for the first time tonight...did not disappoint. We ordered one of each variety. As others have said, the fish and chorizo were excellent...others good. The lime infused slaw and "special sauce" was great on all the tacos. Charo beans were not up to the quality of the tacos (needed salt and more seasoning). The place was very busy, which is a good thing, but the lone server was pretty stressed. We talked with the owner and he asked if we knew anyone looking for a job! Already looking forward to a return visit.

Been busy all week -- will definitely try it this weekend.

I went the other day. I ordered takeout and sat at the bar while waiting for my order. The owner is very nice so I hope they do well. I ordered the following tacos and would rank them in this order:
Pork
Shrimp
Fish
Steak
It was a solid meal but I will say one thing...it was expensive as hell. I got the above with no side and my bill came to $17 & some change. I left a $20 to include the tip. For a $20 lunch, I'd expect a lot more. I could go to Mr. Taco and spend half that for WAY more food and slightly better quality.

I was just there around that time. I was part of that group of Injin people if you noticed.

Ah. Yeah, the owner mentioned you when I brought up Tigerdroppings.

I'd take the Pork el Pastor and Barbacoa tacos at Mr. Taco along with a delicious tamale or cup of tortilla soup over Chops any day of the week.

If they serve up some lengua (beef tongue) I'll make a point of checking them out.

That's all I needed to hear. No reason for me to even try Taco Chops if the quality of Mr Taco's is better.

I finally went there Saturday night, as well. I went in and got a to-go order. As others have stated the owner is very nice; he even gave me a card for a free taco on my next visit. Anyway I ordered a fish on corn and a steak on corn. I thought they were ok, but honestly it reminded me of something I could make myself at home. Packaged tortillas, frozen fish. There wasn't really anything special about it. I'll stick with La Morenita for my taco fix. (RFAD)
