I just drove by and peeked in and they are done. They had good food, but not much business. (Next to Shooters by the mall)

On their Facebook, it says they are moving in the same building (or strip mall) to the corner where Clean Juice used to be.

That's great news and would explain the "temporarily closed" message on google maps.

The owner loves playing chess and welcomes any challengers.

That location is HORRIBLE, you can't get in or out easily. Nothing has made it there and Tabouleh stayed open much longer than I thought it would.

I was at the sports/beach place before Tabouleh. Had a TV at every booth which was nice if you wanted to catch a game, but I agree, not a good location. Like Airline HWY in BTR, lots of car traffic does not necessarily mean more business. For instance, I loved shopping at Off The Hook, but HATED driving there.

It's been on my radar to try, but have just never got around to it.

How's it stack up in the hierarchy of Lafayette Lebanese eateries?

Cedar, Zorbas, Poseidon, Athena, Zeus, Baba Kabob, and Shawarma Guys? (Not a ranking, just a listing).

God I hope not. It is just an awful location. I think they are doing really well downtown in the old beer garden but definitely could go for a smaller brick and mortar in a good location.

Easily the best pizza in Lafayette. I hope they don't go in that location b/c they could kill it in a great spot.

Cedar has a soft spot in my heart as I'm a long time fan, but damn them for closing at 2pm.

I miss the old school Lebanese in Lafayette. Like back in the 80’s. Anything comparable now?

Back in my college days, I lived across the street from Green Olive and would eat there 3 days a week. Chicken Shawerma plate was $4.99 with a Lebanese tea. George and his family were great people and even hosted cooking classes at night.

IMO, the best Lebanese food (take out) in Lafayette is Athena located in the Chevron gas station on Kaliste Saloom & E Martial. The Athena next to Chuck E Cheese has a great menu items and their buffet was the real deal.

That's my go-to. They no longer do the buffet at the other location? Complimentary lentil soup there is what kind of got me loving lentil soup years ago.

Covid Fk'd up everything. The AYCE buffet shut down in 2020 and has not returned, likely never will. Dining "in store" at the Athena gas station was also a casualty of covid and you have to order To Go.
