Sunday Morning Breakfast

Let’s talk about breakfast on Sunday mornings. I usually prepare a pretty solid breakfast for the family before church on a Sunday. Thinking about mixing things up, rising early, and heading to BR or the Northshore for a good meal.
What’s some of the favorite southeast LA breakfast spots for our food and drink posters?

My daughter and I love the brunch buffet at Rum House in BR.

Sunday is our for sure breakfast day and it's three of us with the wife, her daughter and me.
I already have the Bloody Mary Mix made up and pulled out some of my home smoked bacon that I'll fry up around mid morning. With that, I'll have real hash browns, biscuits and eggs any way you like them. My wife likes them over medium, her daughter likes them scrambled with cheese and I like them over easy.
Also to add to the biscuits is good butter and an assortment of homemade jellies in Fig, Habanero Pepper Jelly, Blackberry Jelly and some Pear jelly from a friend of mine.
Of course there will be coffee for those who don't want to get into the Bloody Mary's that early in the a.m.-----but not me.

Two fresh yard eggs over easy, cheesy grits cooked with chicken stock, bacon, toast with butter and homemade blackberry preserve. Cup of steaming hot Community Dark Roast.

My usual Brunch haunts in BR are Mason’s and City Cafe. I’ve also been to The Londoner, Jones Creek Cafe and The Rum House. I found Rum House to be pricey for the Buffet and bottomless mimosas. Londoner and Jones Creek Cafe are underrated as far as brunch is concerned. There are several other places I’d like to try...Ruby Slipper, Our Mom’s, Superior Grill, Olive or Twist and Zea’s.
