I checked out a few websites based on the recommendations and the picture of the muff from R&O's is killer! The ingredients including capicola and mortadella, along with the cheeses is what I am looking for the most. Sad to see it is in Metairie.

Monjuni’s has the best muff in town
They fell of a cliff a few years ago, IDK how they forgot to boil pasta and make sauce, I suspect they are using premade stuff now too.

Pocorellos is closed, that was a very good Muffuletta. Some of my friends say Rocco’s makes a good one. I’ll try one Friday. Will let you know.

Thanks, looking forward to your analysis.

It was very good the Muff from Rocco’s, I still say, in BTR, Pokies was my favorite.
One of my friends talks about the one at Tony’s seafood, I guess I need to go see my friends there.

It’s close to the best for sure. Some people here can’t accept that Monjunis is really good

It has been my favorite, but they don’t put nearly as much meat on it now compared to years ago. Still tastes good.

Yep, Big Head Smith, his Shrimp Remoulade was also a good one.

Why is it sad that it's located in Metairie?
ETA: Instead of just downvoting like hit and run pussies, why not explain to us why it's sad that R&O is in Metairie?

I have not found a really good muffaletta in Baton Rouge. Iverstine Deli is decent.
I went to Cannatella Grocery one time and didn’t like it. Everybody on tiger droppings seems to like it so I will have to give it another try.

Myself and a few friends went there one time, same thing, we didn’t like it. We thought it was one of the worst.
After a couple bites, everyone looked at each other, this is it?
Talking with Pokie, the owner of Pocorellos, one time, a lot of the taste of the Muff, comes from the olive mixture. The Italian Sausage at Pocorellos are another item missed.
For years, we had a group of guys that would eat lunch on Fridays, at Pocorellos, “Smokie” Bourgeois, Knucklehead, the Judge were a few of the guys that were regulars, I was the sane one in the group.

I see Big Heads brother Wiley Smith every now and then around BTR. Haven’t seen him in a while. They are good folks.

They really are great, genuine people. Ray would have done anything for friends and family, even some strangers.
