Thanks. I've been before and know pretty much what to expect with the price.

Negative. The sampling of the cold duck and the porkchop were okay. Too bad I didn't get my entree.

ETA: My gyro I had later was delicious though.

What the frick does this even mean? A place is only fun if you make it fun. Nothing a group of people can do about being boring people.

That being said, it sounds like Rum House is where y'all want to go.

It means I want to go somewhere nice but not stuffy.....AKA I don't want to be at a place around people who are more reserved because we may scare them off.

I think Atchafalaya has a really good atmosphere. I mean, its not Jacques-Imo's atmosphere, but the food is a lot better. Great place.

EDIT: I've seen large groups of girls there on several occasions, so its par for the course. It really is a great place.

I think she meant lively atmosphere. Not a snooze fest. Went to rum house last week.

No Mexican or anything that involves tacos. Thanks pox. Lol

Did she email them? I agree. I'll just keep with the opinion they helped me form that they suck.

Cochon is a thought.

I haven't eaten there yet, but some folks have enjoyed Superior Seafood. A friend of mine has eaten lunch there 5 or 6 times and has said it's been good on every hit. The photos don't look stuffy. Lots of windows and view of the Avenue. Might be a good atmosphere for a fun group.

stuffy? there's another term that gets thrown around regarding restaurants.. and I have no idea what it's supposed to mean.

usually the word "stuffy" is used by cheap people who want to find an excuse to not eat at expensive, upscale restaurants.

ah, so in order to be labeled "not boring" you have to be an obnoxious loud-mouth. got it.

I find that Gautreau's is both stuffy and boring...

Food is good, but just a boring restaurant IMO

Sorry I'm a bubbly girl and don't want to go sit somewhere that I feel out of place. My boss takes me to 'stuffy' places and I've been before on dates or with girls but would prefer to not spend my Birthday at one. I'm not from New Orleans and really didn't get brought up around upscale restaurants so even if the price isn't an issue the 'atmosphere' sometimes is for me.

If I want to laugh and have a good time around friends, I would prefer to not ruin the dining experience of the people around me.....so I'd like to be at a place that gets a little loud aka not 'stuffy'.

Thanks for your input; it's very much appreciated.
