I count 12 entries, with two guys offering two. Not sure what we do about them. Maybe we can get a ruling from Darla about how to look at those two entry contestants.

Then there is one personal foul penalty entry, that I guess got ejected from the game.

1 - Darla - stuffed shrimp
2 - MeridianDog #1 - Shrimp with wine sauce over rice.
3 - Holygrale - shrimp and grits sliders
4 - Btrtigerfan - Shrimp risotto balls over red sauce
5 - Jax-tiger #1 - Garlic Shrimp with chili jam
6 - LSUboo and son - TN hot shrimp with waffles and spiced watermelon.
7 - Jax-tiger #2 - Shrimp and Gruyere Cheese Grits with Bacon and Mushrooms
8 - Lambdatiger1989 - Shrimp Glace with a roasted corn remoulade on ice burg lettuce
9 - Big Dropper - Peruvian Ceviche Shrimp Carpaccio
10 - Meridiandog #2 - Tuscan Shrimp in cream sauce
11 - LouisianaLady - Spicy Sweet Sambal-Curry Shrimp Bolognese
12 - MSMhater - Shrimp Gyoza & Dumplings

Darla Disqualified for late submission:

13 - Got Blaze - Blackened Shrimp Tikka Masala baked in a phyllo dough hand roll

Wait! - In a near biblical display of forgiveness, Darla is willing to allow Got Blaze to continue in the race for the prize of Head Honcho Shrimp Chef.

You’re welcome. I was an SLP for 21 years.

ETA: The challenges she is facing in this pandemic are challenges I never faced. Thank her for me!

LSUboo and son - I have heard rumors he could have never pulled it off by himself.

I would require him to share the prize money with LittleBoo, if he should win. But I don't make the rules.

Cooking something you enjoy eating is never a waste of time.

The whole point of the challenge is to get you to put forward your best.

I think that because we are judging based on photos, so optics plays a bigger factor than taste. We can only imagine what it tastes like, based on the photos and ingredient list.

I think it would be kind of cool, but maybe too complicated to have a different kind of voting system where we vote once for 3 different categories:

1.) Best overall dish,
2.) Tastiest dish,
3.) Dish we'd most likely try to recreate at home.

I would weight it 2 points for best overall, and 1 point each for tastiest and most likely to recreate. Each voter could vote for the same dish for all 3 categories or vote for 3 separate dishes. Again, maybe this is too compicated.

The reason I originally I like the "most likely to recreate" category is because I originally suggested this contest is to provide a platform where we can exchange recipes and ideas and get to see what these dishes look like. I hope this doesn't turn into a contest where only the most advanced cooks participate and win.

I think we've got a good mix of dishes that range from easy to advanced where any cook of any level of experience can find something that they would like to make on this thread.

Good job everyone!

I agree that optics are important.

Big Dropper’s dish is exquisite, but I was dying for a close-up, so I made one!

C’mon, doesn’t that just pop?!

I know how hard that is. While I was an SLP, I was on both sides of the IEP, with a son who was a student in severe/profound settings. Blessings to your wife.

The flavors are very accurate as well.

One of my former cooks was from Peru. One day, I saved all of the fish trimmings & he made a ceviche so good it was life-changing.

I got a lecture when I asked him where the tortilla chips were at.

He served his ceviche with half a boiled sweet potato, half a boiled potato, & half a boiled ear of corn.

It sounds odd if you're accustomed to crunch, but it somehow tastes better.

The texture in this dish comes from corn nuts, the fried shrimp heads, & red onions soaked in ice water.

I wanted to pay respect to my friend.

I think that sounds better, though I've never tried it. From both a taste and texture standpoint, that sounds great.

Deal, although the early returns say that I have very little chance.

Absolutely not because I will be making your dish in the future so it mattered to me
