West end is near bucktown... Bywater is more by industrial canal

Haven't read the thread. Don't intend to.

At least, seperate into New Orleans, and outlying distriect, and Baton Rouge (Lafayette) and outlying districts. That's too many places for one guide.

I think for Baton Rouge the list needs:

North BR (Tony's etc..)
Perkins Overpass (chelsea's, zippy's, Parrain's, Zee Zee garden etc)

and there are at least a couple of places that are strung out along highland that are hard to group like Ruffino's, French Market Bistro, and Galatoire's Bistro...
