For anyone who has enjoyed the fantastic soul food and country cooking at the Stockyard, today is Mrs. Evelyn's birthday. She has been the cook there for 40 years and is the reason why people go back. If you are so inclined, wish her a happy birthday today. What a fantastic cook she is!!

One of the few things I miss about living down there. Loved the food at Stockyard. I still follow them on Facebook. Ol boy cracks me up when they do live videos and give aways.

Yes, most vegetables you get in a lunch place is canned. But, the time taken to properly season them is still a step above. The non-veggie sides are made from scratch.

I don't like canned veggies either but Stockyard does a great job seasoning them up and making them taste good.
