I got downvoted too, for giving legitimate guidance taught by ServSafe.
FWIW, if you're starting a food business, you will not be able to get a DHH retail permit or liability insurance without a ServSafe (or similar) certification.
OP your steak is good to go. Or you can just chuck it.

I bought a prime strip yesterday and treated it correctly. Cooked it last night and it was fantastic. Might do it again tonight.

Yeah not sure why I got downvoted there, but I think everyone should intuitively understand the difference in bacterial propagation in an aerobic vs anaerobic environment
Definitely.. but I'm assuming his steak was still packaged and not open on the car seat.

Well the last time this topic came up, I got blasted and told my facts weren’t good enough because they sounded like they came from ServSafe.
Also, I assumed it was a raw steak but now see some think it was a leftover steak…we don’t even know that answer.

I assume his anaerobic statement refers to the sous vide question?

When I get home from the grocery, I immediately throw my meat out for potential contamination. Are we not all doing this? I thought it was just a status symbol to buy it

Yes, it did.
There is a difference between vaccum sealed versus Saran Wrap around a humid styrofoam base.
Literally everyone here knows that. Not sure why this is controversial.

They tasted great and no signs of food poisoning just a little hung over from the whiskey I drank.
