I have a friend that says he does this all the time and that they turn out great. Has anyone tried this?
I'm skeptical on this.

I like air frying but there's no way in hell I'd put a steak in one.

It comes out great when you wrap it in tin foil with a little butter on top. Pop that bad boy in the microwave for 15 minutes.

Not any different than using the broil function if your air fryer has that feature.

Comes out fine, 7 mins each side.

Are you able to obtain a nice crust on the outside this way? Also at 7 min per side what internal temp are you looking at?

Heard the same thing. No way I'm paying for a steak and trying this.If someone wants to pay for it then I'll try.

The book that came with mine had an Asian steak tip on the cover that looked awesome. Gave it a try and it was good but not great

This is my assessment on just about everything that I’ve tried in an air fryer.

On the other hand, air fryers are worth the money because they make refrigerated fried food that you cooked two nights ago taste almost as good as when you take it out of the oil... specifically catfish.

I like to sous vide my steak in a pot of boiling water for 7-8 minutes, then finish in the microwave

What wattage is your microwave? That can make or break the whole deal.

Don't forget to char the outside. I like my Elon Musk flamethrower for this.
