Reading another thread "Jambalaya calculator without excel?" there is the recipe for jambalaya which requires 3.9 stalks of celery.
To me a stalk of celery is the whole bunch/head you buy. 3.9 stalks would be a LOT of celery! I assume the recipe actually means to use ribs and not stalks.
Which term do you use or think we should go by?
BTW, this is not meant to offend Stadium Rat. Simply wondering which you think it should be.

Both mean the same to me. I've used each term. I always call the full one with all the stalks or ribs a "bunch".

Stadium Rat is highly offended and agrees with this:

A stalk is a single unit. Not the whole bunch.
And 3.9? Give me a freaking break. Like 0.1 of a stalk makes a difference in the recipe.

Just cut the very end off. This is a precision-based enterprise!

Stalk and rib mean the same thing to me. Bunch means the whole shebang.

But if it makes you feel better, you can have a freaking break.
A stalk is a rib. A bunch of them is a bunch (duh) or a head.
