Looking to get one for basic stuff - sautéing veggies, frying eggs, searing meats. Trying to use non stick less. Are most brands made the same or are the higher end pans really that much better?

All-Clad has some factory 2nds on sale right now that I'm eyeing:

All Clad basically invented stainless clad cookware, the All Clad Copper is thicker and bonded better than the Anolon. Remember you buy stainless cookware to have it a lifetime. The All Clad is gonna hold up,to high heat use much better than the Anolon.

I've been using Made-In for a while now and they have been fantastic.

I wanted to like my All Clad frying pan but I never actually use it. Stuff just sticks to it too easily. Ive tried the water drop method but thats BS. They always skip over the 3 tablespoons of oil they use after heating the pan up.

I'm with you and I consider myself very comfortable in the kitchen. I've found that an excessive amount of oil is required for eggs, especially.

What am I doing wrong?
