It really wouldn't take that much to spruce up the outside and make the place more presentable. They've been open for awhile now, and this should have already been taken care of IMO.
As for the food, maybe I'm not a good judge of a philly cheese steak, but my lunch buddies and myself didn't see anything special about the bread & meat. We actually thought they were kind of bland tasting.

Dude, I like SOP. But the owner could that 30 minutes a week with a weed eater and do a world of good to the outside of his building.
All it would cost is a couple of bucks of gas.

Pats and genos use the same ingredients as south of Philly. Actually that's not true because sop uses ribeye all the time, while the other two have been know to use different cuts of meat.
I think the owners are nice, I like the food (it's a cheesesteak, nothing fancy), and I know they plan on making the place look nice

Why don't you drive over an ask them if it's so offensive to you. Eat there. Don't eat there. I don't care. If the place looks unkept from the outside but has good food and a clean interior, than I will eat there with no problem.

Knowing what they put in their food and knowing their personal, financial situation aren't the same.

By the way, dishes from the chimes and opie's placed higher than south of Philly in my top 25. But clearly I am so pro SOP and anti opie's. Please stop embarrasing yourself. I said, up front I like SOP. But the outside of the building is a disgrace. It doesn't matter to some people, but it does to most. You admit it needs some work by starting the thread.
You then gave some bullshite excuses for why it hasn't been done yet. The bull shite excuses got shot down, and you change your argument.
For the record, there is a difference between a colorful hole in the wall and an unkept building/grounds.
