dude .. i was incredibly underwhelmed both times and i am not easy to please and am far from a food expert .. and the exterior looks like katrina hit last week ... not trying to be a jack leg here .. but what the frick gives ?

I've been around 5 times and think it is great. Granted, I have never actually had a steak at Geno's or Pat's, but this place was delicious. I just get the steak with whiz and fries. Offhand I can't think of a place in BR that has better fries and the sandwich was delicious. They will continue to receive my business.

i mean .. you are trashing the chimes and talking that place up ?? come on ... i hope you leave this place off of your website ..
Posted on 7/6/09 at 10:56 pm to TigahRag
ok, i'm not turning this into a e-food fight
all the more reason why i am suprised you didn't like it. good, greasy cheesesteak. if you tried it when it first opened, then give it another try. if you like meat, cheese, and veggies on bread then you should like this place
not every restaurant owner has the financial means to do everything at once. i'd rather the place serve good food than look nice. i do know they will be sprucing it up soon
i don't know

if a food place looks crappy from the street, the average joe is going to assume the kitchen basically looks the same .. it is human nature ... not trying to bust your balls, i just wouldn't hitch your culinary wagon to that place if i were you ..

i have had steaks at pat's and geno's. south of philly is better.
it was nice eating the steak in the cold night air of philly though

South of Philly is clean on the inside. the food is great and the staff are super friendly. i stand by it 100% and i know a lot of people that like it.

and that's where the average joe misses out on really good places. i'm not going to pass up a restaurant because they have weeds in the parking lot

then you are one in a thousand .. this might be the craziest statement i have seen in awhile .. if the guy is NOT going to bother to walk out in his parking lot and spend 20 minutes with a weedeater to attract customers, what in the frick is he doing in his kitchen ?? i mean, come the frick on ..

how in the world is someone passing by on the street supposed to surmise this exactly ?? the parking lot looks like a crack deal waiting to happen ..

it's crazy to immediately pass up a place because they have an unkept parking lot

i am going to sound like afreaux here, but i have talked to the manager and the two owners. they hired a guy a month ago to landscape. he showed up one day and never came back. they have been having trouble finding someone reliable ever since. they finally found someone to landscape and another person to repaint the builidng. the kitchen is clean and so is the inside.

it really doesn't. i'm beginning to think you have your own personal agenda towards south of philly

you can't be fricking typing this shite with a straight face ... if someone takes no pride in their exterior appearance .. they take no pride in their business .. PERIOD .. that is pathetic ..

dude, landscape guys and painters are tripping over each other begging for work right now .. there is absolutely ZERO excuses to not find someone in this economy .. fricking ZERO .. this dude is blowing smoke up your skirt and is obviously a cash strapped tight wad that prolly has his hand in the cookie jar for late night drinkscapdes or something .. open your eyes ..

how could someone even remotely make that assumption ?

no, i have an agenda against businesses that are their own worst enemies because they are lazy ..

it's a business' fault that they only have enough money at the time to fix up the interior and the kitchen? you assume because they haven't taken care of the outside that they have no pride. i think its sad you can judge a place like that without knowing anything about it

i spoke with the guy face to face. he was genuine and honest. i really have no clue what is your problem with this place, but it really seems you have a personal reason for not liking this place

because i have seen it! on more than one occasion! that's how. unlike you who makes up shite to flame a restaurant, i have actually gone inside, looked around, and spoke with the staff. something you didn't. but you assume to know everything

sure, because they are lazy. whatever you want to believe
