Montalbano's Seafood reopened last week

Ate there once and it was just ok. I did find it to be priced accordingly though. I'm all for it reopening if only for the few jobs it'll bring back.

Not saying it's the best BBQ you'll ever eat -- it's not -- but the dry rub ribs are very good, and when you have a big appetite like I have, the AYCE deal with 2 sides and Texas toast is tough to beat.

Looks like they have finally started construction on Sonny's.

Exciting news, Baton Rouge! We are underway with construction and will be reopening our doors in the coming months. We’ll be posting updates here as we continue with our remodel and will have more info on a grand reopening celebration soon. Stay tuned!

What took them so long?
Damn good question. Glad to see them not abandoning. I'd rather if they rebuilt closer to AP, but I'll be glad to have a viable BBQ place around.

We are down from 5 locations in Tampa to 1. Sure seems like it is some corporate "downsizing" deal. Good luck on the reopening.

Sonny's BBQ to reopen next week Sonny's BBQ is back in Baton Rouge. The popular barbecue chain was devastated after last year's historic flooding, and next week, it will reopen at 12475 Florida Blvd. The reopening comes one year after the location closed.
According to a news release, the revitalized location boasts more than 4,000 square feet and room for more than 120 guests. The location remains true to its history, too. Sonny's opened in 1978, and the remodeled restaurant will feature a walk-up window, the original solid brick chimney and a Southern Pride smoker which survived the flooding. Patrons can expect to enjoy those baby back ribs, pulled pork and brisket. After next week's soft opening, the restaurant's business hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
For more information, visit sonnysbbq.com or call (225) 272-5028.

Part of the team that started training today! Looks like opening will be pushed back to the 20th! Hurricane Irma has delayed some of our installers.
