Some recommendations for NOLA

This is for a friend and his gf who are visiting from out of town
Long story short they're only going to be there from about noon to 8
I advised lunch at Commander's Palace but wanted to float out a couple other ideas
Location really isn't an issue but I was thinking maybe something lighter for dinner would be appropriate if they take my commander's recommendation
Also, maybe some things for them to do during the day? I suppose they could go through the FQ?

1. Move to food and drink board
2. Tell him to bring a bullet proof vest

I live here. Never needed a bulletproof vest.

I'm sure you guys enjoy them as much as we enjoy the unprovoked shots at Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. It's all so very neighborly isn't it? One state one heartbeat baby

Entering a thread posting "get a vest" etc. is just old, tired and silly at this point.
And yes Powerman, epic fail.

9 out of 10 times you will get that exact response when someone ask anything about Nola on the OT. The baws just can't help themselves.
Powerman, I would suggest they go to Bachanel around 6:30 down near the Bywater for wine and lite food while sitting outside.

had lunch at CP 2 weeks ago and have to say it was disappointing. Didn't care for the menu, my entree was cold, and the service was only average
is this a weekday? when exactly?

Today
His girlfriend will be getting to town around noonish
He's from Texas but is working in Houma right now. Wants to check out some things in NOLA since it's his day to go back home

id do Peche for lunch over CP. More casual, better food imo.
if they stroll the FQ, my favorite thing to do is walk up and down Royal. Decent shopping for him & her, art galleries, street music, a few bars. We you hit the back of the Cathedral, go thru pirates alley and check out the front. You can easily pass a few hours..
could finish at Bacchanal in the evening, get some cheese and wine or whatever to end the day
