Looks like Smoothie King is eliminating all added sugar in over 50 Smoothies. Strawberries packaged in sugar being stripped, also Ice Creams, and any protein powders that had trace amounts of added sugar. Go Smoothie King! Bout time!

I may actually get it sometimes now. I like their stuff, but it's the farthest thing from health food.

I’d say the Lean 1’s and Gladiator Smoothies are the best options now. When they remove the added sugar it will definitely open up more options. Natural sugars break down in the body so much easier than processed sugars, which turn into fat cells.

Y’all realize the OP posted this on two boards and only posts about Smoothie King? It’s some paid PR firm trying to generate free buzz about SK by posing as a poster.

None of that is true. You obviously have no idea what you’re talking about.

Eating a Tablespoon of Dominos sugar is worse than eating 6 strawberries. True or false Batman?

Well idk about the sugar but obviously there are more benefits nutritionally from eating fruit.

True just because there's more grams in a tablespoon than in the strawberries. It's about sheer volume, has nothing to do with the source.

Not really, fruit is pretty much just a sugar bomb and is pretty much in no way needed

Sugars in fruits are more easily passed because when the body breaks them down it also breaks down the fiber, and many vitamins associated with fruits. Processed sugars have zero nutritional value so the body stores processed sugars in the form of fat cells.

Wrong.

Correct, all sugar, including sugar in fruit.

But fruit might not affect your glycemic index the way that processed sugar does. It doesn't usually cause spikes in your blood sugar levels.

1g of sugar from fruit is no different than 1g of sugar out of a bag. The difference is you can eat like 20 strawberries or 1 tablespoon out of a bag.

False

Sugar in fruit is fructose which is a monosaccharide. Table sugar is sucrose, which is a disaccharide. Chemically they are two separate things.

I never made a statement about which one was worse. I said that this statement:

quote:

Natural sugars break down in the body so much easier than processed sugars, which turn into fat cells.

was incorrect. Sugar is not turned into fat cells. Fat cells are already there. The energy from sugar is stored in the fat cells. No new fat cells are created when you eat sugar.

If you going to try and do this guerrilla marketing thing for Smoothie King, at least get your facts straight before you look like a moron.

And nutritionally they are stored as fat, that was my point.

I thought this was a thread about SK not cleaning their blenders properly.

Also, Dallas sucks.

Good, their smoothies taste like you're eating cake batter.

So how are the new smoothies? Is a muscle punch still taste like a muscle punch or it is like a anorexic punch. What do these new smoothies taste like from the old named drinks?
