My love is pure and chaste. I don't even do ketchup on them. Straight from the Sonic cup into my mouth. I do like salt, but my sonic is pretty good about salting them as soon as they come out of the ancient grease pool.

I don't know, MD, I'm thinking you might really enjoy that contrast in textures.

Can you believe I hardly ever fry potatoes at home?

Scout's honor - maybe once a year and usually then on the catfish fryer outside.

His show with his daughter Claudine was embarrassing. She's such a dolt.

I guess I do remember seeing her with him on one of the segments. I didn't pay much attention to her.

Pépin knows his stuff. He has a good laid back attitude about it on the show, too.

I like Claudine. Reminds me of an ex. She's not a dolt. She's just the daughter of a type A guy that is a perfectionist in the kitchen.

And sorry about the earlier comment Gris and Md. I was partyin.

Potatoes look great.

gonna make this tonight with a ribeye and fried cabbage, except I think I'm going to throw in some onions and fresh garlic in the butter and sauté for a bit before adding flour

My grandmother, and to a lessor degree my mom, made the dish often . It's best with small, freshly dug "new " potatoes.

I'm pretty sure that was margarine, but I get the idea.

Worthy of mentioning once a year or so is not all people on this board are culinary masters. There are plenty of folks who come here to learn how to make a simple meal. To recreate a dish from their childhood, or one they ate at a fancy restaurant is priceless to a young person that is tired of Totino's pizza every night.

I love your posts MD. Please keep it up. The step by step recipes and photos are an asset to this board.

Sort of like Mexican food and Taco Bell. Sometimes you just must have Taco Bell.

A little late at night for me to be eating a Totino's Pizza, but I am certain I could.

Without question.

And, now one who asked can make or attempt to make buttered toast.
