Red was good. Pils was surprisingly good. Oatmeal stout was ok. Floral ipa was decent.

Not a fan of this year's batch. Glad to have tried them, but I'd save my money.

Sierra nevada has a beer camp where home brewers can come and learn from the experts. They've started choosing some of the best recipes that the homebrew guys come up with and releasing them commercially. Sorta the same as St Arnold's does with their Divine Reserve releases.

Thats a really cool deal. So divine reserves are other peoples recipes? forgive my ignorance, just getting into craft beer, but love St. Arnold's. Also, how do I know when/what are camp series? I enjoy sierra nevada.

Welcome. This is not the OT or Rant, so no worries about your questions. You will get plenty of opinions on here about craft beer, but it is all about what you like. My advice is to try as many beers as possible so you can establish a broad frame of reference.

Yes. There is a homebrew competition in Houston called Big Brew Bash. St Arnold's picks one of the winning brews every year to release as a Divine Reserve. That's whats cool about craft beer in general, it all still goes back to the home brewers. Sorta like NASCAR was when the racers were running moonshine as their day job.
