I first at there at dinner in '06 (I remember because my son was still in a infant seat) and it was not all you could eat then. I'm not sure when they opened...

I think the all you can eat sushi place is "Sushi Masa".

to say either one of these is far better than the other(or its not even close) is a little overboard

C'mon Jones, you know how the internet works...one place is always the best, and any other place is complete dog shite by comparison.

ETA: never had Sushi Yama, but heard good things. Ichiban is my favorite sushi in BR.

Damn I'm all mixed up.

Well, now that I know what I'm talking about, I have been to sushi yama once before and it was alright. I would have said Waka House and Ichiban are my two favorites in BR

A colleague of mine, from japan, claims YAMA is better.

I work at the lake, so both places are close. Having to order food to-go from both places bc of my schedule sucks, but ichiban is more consistent and faster.

I don't like either one as much as Koto Maybe I have a shitty palette.

My favorite to order is the raw nigiri, and it was great at Yama. But I generally get a few raw pieces of nigiri and also try out one specialty roll for shits and giggles/a filler. The rolls at Yama bored me. Ichiban has some more interesting rolls, but the raw fish has been hit or miss lately.

Koto has the perfect blend of great raw nigiri and also (IMO) the most interesting specialty rolls in BR. Plus on weeknights they offer most of their specialty rolls in "half sizes" for half the price, so you can try out a couple interesting rolls without gorging on food or spending too much.
