OTIS, I got your back. I eat them from time to time when someone doesn't know how to cook them and it is a pain to peel. When I was younger, I made something similar to dried shrimp. My mom would give me the very small shrimp when she was cooking, I would leave the shell on it, cover them in salt and put them in the toaster oven on high for a little while. Once they were dried, I would tear them up.

Yep. If they're over cooked it's a no brainer. I've made tat mistake before, but rarely do..I always err on the side of under cooking shrimp. But I just like the damn shells.

My grandfather used to do a good bit of shrimping when I was younger and I would go with him sometimes. He had a Vietnamese helper that would tag along. He would eat them right out the water. He would rip the head off and the stinger off the tail and go to town.

Never tried eating the shells. Would be a lot less work if I did eat them.

In that case, you buy the shrimp, boil'em up, ice the beer, and I'll come over and peel you some peels.

When I went to Malaysia on a business trip my hosts at one business took us to lunch and ordered fried shrimp. They came battered like usualy but were unshelled and had the tails and heads. They just eat them whole. I did the same but was not crazy about it. Good roughage I guess.
