Deveining small shrimp is for the birds. Process looked spot on. I don't do tomatoes in mine, but this one looked light on the maters and the color looked right to me. Enjoying the recent posts MD. Keep them coming.

I love shrimp and okra and tomato gumbo. I've never added chicken, but I would definitely eat it. Looks good.

I usually cook my okra and tomatoes first. It becomes the body of the gumbo.

apparently. can't even offer anything remotely resembling an opinion other than "looks great! IWEI!!!!" without the pro-MD cheerleaders immediately showing up wielding pitchforks and lynch ropes.

it's not a terrible looking gumbo or anything, but it looks quite thin and very greasy in a couple of those pics. also I'm not a fan of tomatoes in gumbo at all. plus never heard of fried chicken and shrimp in a gumbo.

Hey Boss take that shite to the OT. MD has been threatening forever to do a gumbo thread and knew it would bring criticism.
I like his posts and most all dishes he does.

Well he did tell him none of that belonged. I've always used bay leaves and thyme. Never dill or ground mustard and I make either seafood or chicken never combined but to say it doesn't belong is just stupid. There is as many versions of gumbo as there is gumbo cooks and I don't criticize any. I can't stand okra but if you hand me a bowl of gumbo with it in it I'll eat it.
