I've known Lim for over 20 years and he's a personal friend....awesome guy and has done a great job with his restaurant although you feel like you need to take a shower after walking through the lobby area of the hotel getting in and out of the restaurant. He's still in a fight with cancer and could use all the prayers and positive thoughts for those inclined to offer.

Great article. Thanks for linking.
Chris Jay posted recently that a major publication was working on a story about a local restaurant. I figured it would be Lucky Palace, but the NYT exceeded my most optimistic guesses as to the publication.

Awesome article. I’ve been there for dinner once and had a great meal with a couple nice glasses of wine. I don’t think he was there that night.

Outstanding article. A short stroll through the rape zone / prostitution ring lobby on your way to an incredible meal at Lucky Palace is just part of the charm.

I have known Lim for years and we used to drink pretty seriously together back in the day. One night, drunk me felt it appropriate to opine to him on the location of his restaurant. As I waxed poetically on the myriad reasons he should move to a more suitable location he simply pointed to the packed dining room and said: “Why would I move to some place with four times the rent or take on a mortgage when my dining room is full every night?”
I stared stupidly into my glass of wine and changed the subject.
