Serious Range Cleaning

We try to keep the range clean but cooking can cause some buildup especially in cracks and crevices. About once a year I do a good thorough cleaning inside and out with degreaser.
I really started this yesterday but only got the two ovens cleaned. Just finished and I'm whopped. I removed the door skins that have one pane of glass and took them outside and cleaned them well. The other two panes I cleaned inside. It's amazing how crap can get up under and into the doors! Got the stovetop nice and clean and gave the knobs a soaking. Just need to do the stainless backsplash and the vent hood. I might as well take the vent baffles out and clean those too. Pressure washer comes in handy for that.
Anybody else go to this extreme to clean their range?

Jesus man, what do you do on that thing?
Usually a self clean followed with 30min of elbow grease brings it back to showroom shine.

Meh. Its a kitchen range. Meant to be a bit grimy imo

First of all, I do regular cleanings of my oven and cooktop to keep from getting to the point I need to disassemble things to clean them.
I do a more thorough cleaning on my cooktop since that is what I use most, but it gets wiped down just about daily and thoroughly cleaned at least once a month.
My outdoor grill gets a good thorough cleaning at least every 3 months, but it gets used a lot with grilling meats and vegetables.

I haven’t cleaned my oven in at least 12 years
I figure it gets hot enough to burn the gradoo off

Is this your oven?

The best part about a BlueStar: all cast iron top. Grates, burners, lower bowl. You can take every bit of it off and scrub with Barkeepers Friend....or you can allow it to “season”just like an old skillet. Unsealed top means the worst stuff falls thru into the drip tray. Line w foil, so you simply replace the foil.
The oven is not self cleaning. For an extra $10, house cleaner will deal with it. A serious bargain.

I just want you to know that I'm envious as hell. When my current range top croaks, I already know which BS I will replace it with.

I waited a llooong time to get my BS. And when I bought it, it cost more than my car was worth at the time. I won’t ever need to buy another range, though. Buy once, cry once.
