I live in Lake Charles and would be glad to fix your pot. Just catch me on a weekend when I.m headed to my camp on the river. After about three beers it'll be ready, lol

Get yourself some oil and a bonfire and then crack a beer. Oil it up, let it burn, pull it out, repeat. There's not much to it.

I have never heard of bringing a pot somewhere to get seasoned.

This. This whole thread is confusing. If it is rusted scrub it out with steel wool, clean with water, oil and put in a fire. Repeat.

shite. If there is a market for seasoning cast iron I will build a building and hang a shingle that says Martini's Cast Iron Cookwear Seasoning. Five bucks a pound.
