Seaside / 30-A Dining Report

Please tell me it was a white burgundy.

Nope. Why?

ETA: And please don't say "because your entrees were seafood" or something common like that.

No but that does have a lot to do with it....I am just suprised he did not recommend something lighter like a pinot, zin, or even a merlot...not trying to be a wine snob...but a red burgundy is a pretty stout wine....stands up well to heavy tomato sauces....any special reason he gave you for that suggestion?

The Burgundy was a pinot noir--Gevrey Chambertin if I recall correctly. While earthy (which we prefer) it was surprisingly delicate and perfect for the dishes we ordered.

Oh, and after we finished the bottle of champagne before our second course even arrived, I'm pretty sure we could've had anything so long as it was alcoholic.

FYI, red burgundy is pinot noir.

Stayed a Silver Shells several years ago. It was really nice.

good. Haven't stayed there before, so I was a little nervous. The pictures that were on vrbo.com looked nice, but I am still unsure.

You all can keep your Watercolor, Seaside, and Rosemary Beach. I am, and will always be, a Grayton girl. Long before the yuppies descended on South Walton – there was only Grayton. You can have your crowded beaches, kids’ camps, and khaki-and-white photo sessions. We’ll stick with our non-matching umbrellas that we set up ourselves, “calendar of activities” that consists of sitting on the beach with a drink, and dinner of boiled crabs that we caught in the lake.

Just got back from Grayton last night, I've been there every summer since birth. The lagoon sure has changed, it looked like somebody dug it out all the way to the gulf.
