If you put anything on a panini griller I think it makes sandwiches 10x better. Yea those sandwiches look really good.

I think mine might be Cuisinart? I know that Krupps is good too. Mine was like $100 but got 20% at Bed Bath Beyond. It was worth every penny. Makes your sandwiches so much better.

Buy the LeCrueset that just sits on the cooktop. That is what I use and it is good. Comes with the heavy lid.
Or a good poor man's is a cast iron skillet (or any skillet) and a brick wrapped in aluminum foil for top weight. Works just as good as any panini press.

Had the Cuisinart and it worked great (lost in the spoils of war a/k/a divorce). Now just use the aluminum foil wrapped brick trick and it works almost as well.

Brick wrapped with foil works best. It's cheap and easy to clean, plus easy to store.

Spanglish sandwich:
3-4 slices of bacon
2 slices of Monterey Jack cheese
2 slices of toasted rustic country loaf (pain de campagne)
1 tbsp of mayo
4 tomato slices
2 leaves of butter lettuce (yes, it's called butter lettuce)
1 teaspoon butter
1 egg
Preparation:
1. Cook the bacon until crisp, drain on paper towels
2. Place slices of cheese on one side of toasted bread. Place in toaster oven or under broiler to melt.
3. Spread mayo on other slice of bread top with bacon, sliced tomato, and lettuce
4. On non-stick skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Fry egg, turning over briefly when the bottom is set (keep yolk runny)
5. Slide finished egg on top of lettuce, top with other slice of bread (cheese-side down genius)
6. Place sandwich on plate and slice in half, letting yolk run down sandwich

I just use my iron cast grill pan and it works fine for me...

My parents have one of these. When I would come home from LSU for a weekend or whatever I would go sandwich crazy. I just might have to pick one up soon
