Nopalito is a legit Mexican spot. Really good. Cool vibe too.

Pi-Bar is good pizza and beer place.

Rosamunde is a good sausage place.

Cervecería de Mateveza is a small, order at counter empanada and microbrew beer place. Good for a quick lunch.

Gracias Madre is incredible mexican place....but it is all vegetarian.

La Trappe is a belgian bistro and beer place.

Agreed....but it is always super crowded and the wait is pretty long.

I went at lunch on a Friday and waited like 5 min. Don't know if that was a one off or not. I think we made a res or called ahead though.

We used to eat amazingly cheap sushi (sashimi dinners actually) at Kitaro on Geary.

How do you put a price on variety or quality? San Francisco has both in spades. It's too bad you have no appreciation for either.

A lot of the places around Fishermans Wharf are overpriced tourist traps. Scomas is a cool restaurant with classic San Francisco menu.

Not the best food there...House of Nanking in China Town was good to us. We avoided the crowd by going at an off hour for lunch, ordered the "feed me" menu, plus a few added dishes.

Yes, but I wouldn't know. We stayed at the Garden Orchard hotel right at the gates of China Town for our 5th anniversary. We just walked around and ate when we felt like it. I wouldn't travel across the city for any restaurant...there're tons of options, we usually just stop wherever we are when we're hungry. When we lived there we were on the Ocean Beach side, so we generally stuck to that side of town. On our anniversary trip we enjoyed the walk from China Town to Coit tower.

We stayed there for our honeymoon. Great location. If you are a beer guy, I would definitely second La Trappe. Another place we really liked was The Slanted Door. It was a Vietnamese fusion place in the Ferry Building.

Was there in March. Ate at Wayfare Tavern, which was delicious. Started with deviled eggs, crudo and oysters. Sea bass was delicious, as was the burger. Tried to get into State Bird Provisions, could not get a rezzie. Same with Foreign Cinema, but walked up and got seated immediately. Great brunch.

I always enjoy Balboa, and Liverpool Lil's before heading into GG park for some disc golf.

It's hard to go wrong in SF.

Where are you eating in Napa? I am headed there on Saturday for Thanksgiving.
