I know nothing about Sake. I wanted to drink some Sake last year. So I went to my neighborhood liquor store and asked for their recommendation on what to buy. I purchased some Sake from them and brought it home. It's supposed to be sipped warm. A little goes a long way. So I warmed up a little Sake and slowly sipped it. That stuff was good...especially when drinking it on a cold day. A couple of sips right before bed time helps me to sleep good. I recommend Japanese Sake to anyone. Be careful. It's strong. It's very easy to get plastered if you drink to much at one sitting.

Look for either of these bottles if you can find them. They're both in the 15% ABV range and cost less than $30 for 1.5 liters.

Either should be sufficient for a sushi night ght, unless of course you're trying to impress your friends. Then you should look into Dai Gingo and Junmai Dai Gingo sake.

1. Something unfiltered
2. shake it up before you drink it.
3. Chop a cucumber in half to look like a shot glass, hollow it out
4. Serve chilled in said cucumber
5. Enjoy

Tozai Snow Maiden

Very nice, easy drinking unfiltered sake that you can find damned near anywhere in 750ml and 300ml. It's usually just under $20 for the 750ml. Served chilled and make sure you turn/swirl the bottle to remix the sediment.

I’m a big fan of Akitabare Northern Skies.
