That's a really good deal. I don't think I've ever seen a 30 lb bag of Royal Oak Lump.
Thinking back, I probably saw 30 lb bags of Royal Oak sold under the Big Green Egg brand. The last bag I bought was 20 lb and went for about $14 under the Gordon Food Service brand.

Have you tried the XL cut? I think it's pretty damn good for $1/lb.

I haven't seen that but I've often thought it would be productive to sort lump charcoal by size before use.

I don't mind regular Royal oak, but the XL is definitely bigger with a lot less powder and pieces that clog the intake holes of my BGE.

That is a good price...Restaurant Depot usually has a good price on RO lump.

Not sure if many were aware, but Lowes now carries Kamado Joe XL Lump charcoal. It's the best lump i've ever used. Clean burning, large chunks, and burns longer.

I was not the one who downvoted you, lol, but I've not seen RO at the NOLA Rest Depot in a year or more. Would love for them to start selling it again.

The NO RD is a mess. I quit going there after 2-3 wasted trips when basic stuff was either completely out of stock or so disorganized that you couldn't find it (cups & lids, I'm looking at you). It desperately needs more attentive management. Mail order for smalls/paper consumables is price competitive, they're just a PITA for me to store.

Agree, but I only shop there for meat and seafood. Can't beat it for price and selection of meat and seafood.

I hit the same deal and got 3 bags I been using this for a while. WE build a hot side on the rusty ole pit and no coals on the other side under the chimney. Did a couple porterhouses 2 min a side over the coals and 5 mins a side on the cool side then rest for 10 minutes man were they good
