Well, you must be Opie's buddy because the only people who post here who liked his food are his buddies according to PT. I guess he knows the identities of all the anonymous posters who liked his food and knows they are all Opie's friends. Fancy that.

the food at that restaurant was bad. To this day I don't trust a single restaurant review on this site because of the BS posted on here about Opie's.

I ate many a good meal there. The crawfish ravioli and his gumbo were my go to meals. He sold the business with the name. I don't recall eating there after the switch.

I'm excited about the Roux 61. The owner is a longtime friend of mine. He has a passion for food, and traditional cooking methods. I've eaten at the Natchez location several times. I think the Baton Rouge market will find a place for it even if it isn't some new concept, or James Beard wanna be.

Uh oh...another Opie buddy who lies about the food being good. Man, there are a lot of you out there.

To be expected ever since Opie and his buddies used to come on here and pump up the slop Opie dished out at his old place.

I sold that restaurant with the largest problem being not enough parking spots and tables in the place.

The restaurant actually changed owners 3 times. Owners 2 and 3 cut corners with food quality and fired the good cooks.

The numbers don't lie.

If you're that butthurt over the horrible food, err slop, you had 9 years ago, come by the office and I'll gladly give you your money back.

Looking forward to trying Roux 61. A coworker of mine gave it an excellent review and I have spoken to friends who have had nothing but good things to say about the original location. He said the stuffed Portabello appetizer was awesome.

Some say it's the same kind of cuisine that many restaurants offer here already. That may be true but what amazes me is how many restaurants manage to screw it up.

Relax man. It's ok for someone to have an alternate opinion about a local eatery.

My mistake in replying to "man". I apologize.

Just kind of lame to tell someone to not hang around on a certain board b/c of an opinion. Ah well. I'll go back to lurking.

Went tuesday night, the fried ribeye appetizer was really good. Split a seafood platter with the SO and we couldn't finish it. Only thing we didn't care for too much was the seafood gumbo, was a darker more new orleans style roux, but to each his own. Also had a few old fashions to go with it. I would go back

You should read ALL of the posts to get the point. You will find that I specifically said this board has differing opinions. Go back and look.

Don't lurk. Feel free to post. :cheers;
