I bought the chicken bag one time and there were a ton of feathers left on the frozen chicken. Make sure you examine before buying.

I did that once too and I felt the chicken tasted a bit different. Could have just been me or the bag I got, but I won't get it again.

Not sure if Rouse's still does this for their rib sales, but the few times I've gotten their rib sale it wasn't a full rack and it was rib pieces.

And I've never found feathers on the leg quarters. I have, however, found pin feathers still stuck on wings when buying them in bulk.

Besides, feathers don't weigh shite and are easy to pluck out, so no big deal if a few make it out of the plant and into the bag.

Worked with a guy once that refused to buy/eat any cut up chicken...said that was the chicken that was fricked up due to hormones, etc. and the processers would bag up and sale the normal looking pieces and grind the weird looking parts up for dog food.

Thanks for posting OP, I hit Rouse's after work for the sale and put a ton of meat in the freezer for less than $100. Spent an hour separating and vacuum sealing, then I grilled some chicken quarters afterward and they tasted great and were feather free. The ribs are prepackaged, same brand as Winn Dixie or any other supermarket.

Their shrimp sizing is very optimistic recently, at least at the Bluebonnet store.

Thanks for posting OP,

You're welcome. I will head over to the one near me tomorrow for 20 lbs. of the leg quarters and a few avocados.

I'd like to get more while on sale, but my freezer is almost full right now between pork butts, beef slabs I cut into steaks, stocks, already prepared food, shrimp and fish and a ton of stewed okra I put up from my garden this year.

Pretty sure I could eat strictly out of my freezer and the food I have canned for a good 3 months without buying anything but things like milk, bread and fresh fruit and vegetables.
