Got a little kick to it...I like it a lot. They were out of 1lb packs of LA frozen crawfish tails today, so I made etouffee with their frozen shrimp....It was yummy too.

It's not bad. But yet another example of something called "new Orleans style" when it a common item found all over the country.

What makes it "New Orleans" style? They put Tony's in it or something?

Uhhh...they didn't buy Leblancs against their will. Blame Leblancs, if anyone.

Eta: re. Rouse's potato salad....I'll pass.

Disagree. If Rouse's would look into what works at the stores they're acquiring and adopt the recipes and methods of places like LeBlanc's and Matherne's that clearly had superior products, there would be no objection to Rouse's but they don't. So imho, it's perfectly reasonable to be disappointed with Rouse's.

Let Rouse's keep their chicken salad recipe and you have a deal.

Rouse's needs Matherne's fried chicken recipe, too.. because Rouse's chicken is a grease sponge.

Rouses fried chicken is way better than Mathernes. It's not even close.

It's got more chunks of potatoes and is less of a "slop" style than a Natchitoches potato salad.

Not any that I've had.. I guess if you like a grease sponge.. go for it.

You make a fair point but all Leblanc's had to say was "no thanks, we're not for sale".

That style of potato salad is common all over the place. It's not native to new Orleans. It's just a marketing scheme. I'm surprised they haven't started selling "new Orleans style" bottled water.

Isn't selling what everyone wants to do with their product or idea? It's the best possible outcome for an entrepreneur to sell for a profit, so you can't blame LeBlanc's for the handoff, if its replacement is lackluster.

I think they might use a little hot sauce, not sure. It has large chunks of red potatoes in it. I like it.
