Winn dixie
Rouses
Ralphs
the new neighborhood walmart

Can't seem to go to any of those and get everything i need.

Hell, the new walmart doesn't even carry Zapp's potato chips. That's UnAmerican.

I'm surprised to read these accounts re: Rouse's.

I've purchased meat and fish probably over 100 times from a combination of the Rouse's on Baronne and the Veterans location; I've never had an issue with spoilage. And I'm pretty diligent with inspecting at the store and smelling when I get home if anything appears remotely suspect upon opening.

Perhaps a quality control issue within certain branches?

Rouses is terrible compared to leblancs.

Leblanc's had better quality meats, beer selection was much better. Now beers have to be "approved" to be sold at their locations.

Did Rouses just make Leblancs an offer they couldn't refuse?

only thing that makes sense to me...

another thing about the 42 Rouses that bothered the hell out of me was lack of management... Late afternoon the front of the place is being run by kids, literally. Its chaos more often than not

Leblancs always had a manager of some sort overseeing the cashiers, directing baggers, etc. Hell half the time they were sending stock boys out to help women unload their carts.

I agree with what most are saying that the change from Leblancs to Rouses has been a downgrade. I buy as much of my fresh produce, meat, and dairy products as I can from the farmers market on Saturdays, and get what the rest from Rouses. Thats usually canned goods, rice, and other similar products. Never had a issue with anything I have purchased from the market.

The Leblancs to Rouses handover has been shite in PVille

This, I cringe every time I have to drive out of my way to go somewhere else now. I have relinquished to stopping at Albertson's on my way home now.
