Just follow your nose while in Rome down any small alley and you will find a nice meal that is also inexpensive.

Just stay away from the restaurants on the main squares that have pictures on their menus.

We ate a Cafe Positano several times while we were staying in Positano. Great food and an incredible view.

If you’re in Sorrento check out Tavern Allegra. Positano had some great eats on the beach but i forgot the names.

Eat seafood dishes in Amalfi and stay with beef, pasta, pie in Rome and Florence.

Trattoria dall'Oste chianineria In Florence for steak. I’m currently in Florence and been twice. don’t try to get cute and hit up a sushi place or burger place. Eat Italian food! Drink red wine from Montelcino

Brewdog in Florence by the Duomo for craft beer if that’s your thing. The food there is not that great though.

If you want a big blowout dinner in Positano, go to La Sponda Restaurant in Le Sirenuse Hotel. The food is fantastic and the setting is gorgeous. There are big picture windows overlooking the town on one side and the Mediterranean on the other and the place is lit with 400 candles. Go early and have a cocktail on the outdoor terrace. We spent a week in Positano in 2014. Other fovorites are Chez Black on the beach and Ristorante Max. We also went to some terrific family run pizza joints up the hill.....We just got back from Florence in April. Our two favorites were Natalino's and Ristorante St. Ambrogio.
