Their brick oven pita is by far the best in town. Not that lazy shite they give you at Albasha and Serops

Is Jamal Roman still alive? If so, is he in jail?

Roman's pita and their homemade hot sauces really make it my favorite, this sucks. At least there's the hammond aire location, and it's pretty clean and seems well-run. The writing's been on the wall at the gov't location for some time.

Didn't the Mi Padres group just open that Luna Cocina restaurant?

In a league of its own. I consider the other staples (Romans, Albasha, Serops) to be more quick service restaurants

I live on St. Landry very close to Roman's, and I've never heard of any of the crimes the owner has alleged.

He had around a 4 year sentence back in 2011, so he is definitely out. The story noted Owner "Moe Roman" so not sure if that is what Jamal goes by or not.

My only complaint about Zorba's is (at least last I checked) that they only do the fresh pita for dinner. I would go for lunch vastly more often if they started serving it then as well.

You can buy the pitas to go. Even rewarmed they are so much better than any store brand. When I've picked them up it was Friday during lunch.

I'm not saying they have bad pita for lunch; it's just not as good as their dinner pita, unless they've started offering it for lunch as well.

They probably bake off all the leftover dough at the end of the night and serve it at lunch the day after.

There's an Italian place taking over. I want to say Josephine's, Cafe Josephine, something like that. I got the notification for an alcohol permit hearing a few months ago. I think the hearing was in early June. They've been working steadily inside.
