place gets all kind of love here but, i didn't think it was worth the drive.
ETA: my post from the other thread.
ok, i hate to be that guy but, this place was not very good.
The seafood gumbo was good. but, it ended there.
eggplant crab cake appetizer had a hair on the plate. They replaced the the dish but, it still wasn't very good. it was pretty much all breading.
the stuffed catch was also mostly stuffing and very little fish and it really didn't have much flavor.
The filet, which was the meat special. I'm sure a lot of folks here like the "crust" but, it tasted burnt and ruined the flavor of the meat itself.
$200 for 4 people and we left hungry. Not worth the trip.

You don't like a good sear on your steak? Just go to Outback next time. You can even get a blooming onion.

I have to agree with this. The food was OK but it's a long ride for me. If I want good seafood, La Lagniappe is where I go.

I think Roberto sold it, no, not worth the trip anymore.

I don't think that's true. Haven't heard anything about that from my family in St. Gabriel.

We go there regularly and haven't noticed a drop off. I looked online and couldn't find anything about it changing hands recently.
Do you have a link?

So you can’t get a sear at Outback?
There is a difference between a good sear and a crust but apparently you can’t tell the difference.
I eat the grilled fish at Roberto’s. It’s always a safe choice.
